Holy crap, update! The Foundation update dropped over Thanksgiving and there is a lot to talk about. Base building has been added. You can now set down roots on a planet and build a huge pod to call your own. Freighters can now be interacted with and bought from aliens to add more storage in your every tightening inventory. New textures and UI add some gloss and some ease of use to the interactions with your suit, tool, and ship. New game modes like Creative and Survival to add new types of experiences. And, new elements, recipes, and quest to keep you moving and exploring the universe.

Note! They regenerated the universe, so most of your exploration process in any system may be affected, but nothing has been removed from your personal stats.
