Battlefield 2042 was released back in november 2021, with this release it introduce modes such as Conquest, portal, and a game mode they would later forget about... Harzard zone was a new mode introduced in the battlefield franchise. Hazard zone is a take on extraction shooters, Inserted as a four-member squad, you must locate and retrieve critical Data Drives scattered throughout the battlefield, while fighting opposing squads with the same objective and Occupying Forces. Succeed by gathering the Data Drives and choosing when to extract before a storm overtakes the area in this high-stakes, one-life experience.

Why did battlefield 2042 hazard zone fail? well for starters the gameplay loop is pretty boring dropping into a game and finding hard drives isn't the most engaging activity. another reason that hazard zone failed is that EA and the developers of Battlefield 2042 stopped updating this game mode back in May of 2022 which is 7 months after the official release.
