When a writer sets out to tell a story, many of them fall into a trap called worldbuilder's disease, where they spend all their creative efforts detailing stuff that doesn't matter to the story. The reason they do this is because they need to know it to tell the story (sometimes), not because it needs to go in the book. The catch is that sometimes they might have an explanation for an apparent issue, and need to decide if they slow down the story to address it for the reader.
In this video I propose two categories of "Yes, you need to explain that" and why.
