21st June 1582, Mitsuhide Akechi betrays his Daimyo Nobunaga Oda at Honnō-ji seemingly killing him in the process.....however back in May Nobunaga had decided to transfer his main base of operations to Kyoto and realising that Kyoto is vulnerable starts fortifying it.
