Nostalgic Nibbles #36: G-LOC (Master System)
Sibling of the arcade smash hit Afterburner, G-LOC presents its own kind of air-battle action - especially in its Master System home port. Like a number of arcade-to-NES conversions, G-LOC was retooled into its own beast for Sega's 8-bit console while still retaining enough of its arcade flavour to bear the G-LOC name proudly.
IMPORTANT NOTE: For some bizarre reason I still can't fathom, OBS decided to not record the sound for the gameplay footage I recorded. I'm so used to it just working that the one time I didn't check the sound inputs something goes wrong. So, since I didn't want to re-record and lose the gameplay and commentary I'd recorded, I sought out the only copy of the 8-bit soundtrack I could find, the Game Gear version, splicing it in as appropriately as possible for every phase of the game. Which yeah, was a lot of fiddly work. Unfortunately, the SMS and GG versions have their own musical differences and I couldn't match the SMS version perfectly. So, consider this a bit of an alternate soundtrack version to accompany the commentary and I do apologise for it not being as authentic an experience as planned and I plan on doing a follow-up vid to showcase it as it should be.
