The union of ray tracing and AI is pushing graphics fidelity and performance to new heights. To help you build optimized, bug-free applications in this new era of rendering technology, the latest release of NVIDIA Nsight Graphics introduces new features for ray tracing development, including tools to help you harness AI acceleration.

Shader Debugger: The Nsight Graphics Vulkan Shader Debugger is available in Beta Early Access version in Nsight Graphics Pro. The Shader Debugger is a hardware-accelerated, GPU-based debugging tool, enabling quick breakpoint setting and code stepping without interrupting application execution. Live debugging capabilities eliminate the need for frame captures, enhancing your efficiency. To make finding and fixing bugs in your code even easier, the Focus Picker allows you to view pre-transformed geometry for vertex buffers and the contents of the current render target with an overlay of the fragments currently in flight.

GPU Trace: Introducing the new Events List, which provides comprehensive API event tracking along with marker correlation and timing information. Selecting events creates selection regions in the timeline and allows visual inspection of API state. Furthermore, Trace Analysis has been improved to highlight the Top 3 performance issues per-marker, for quick identification of optimization opportunities.

CUDA Events: CUDA is leveraged under the hood of NVIDIA’s neural graphics and AI technologies like DLSS. To help you integrate DLSS, Nsight Graphics now supports CUDA Events including NGX shaders attribution, providing insights into CUDA operations directly on the GPU Trace timeline.

OpenXR Support: Nsight Graphics now supports OpenXR for general frame debugging, including Capture and Replay functionalities. OpenXR integration simplifies VR and AR development, ensuring high performance and low latency simulations.
Nsight Aftermath Full Resource History: Nsight Aftermath now offers a full resource history for crash dumps, providing actionable data to pinpoint the root cause of GPU crashes. The resource history can be viewed using the Nsight Aftermath dump viewer in Nsight Graphics, improving debugging capabilities.
