this is the second place run for the $10k Oblivion Override speedrun challenge, winning $2,500.
world 1: 125fps / world 2: 62fps / world 3: 120fps

this is a relatively new game, and the devs decided to host a speedrunning competition with a $10k prize pool. 1st gets $4k, 2nd gets $2.5k, 3rd gets $1.5k, and everyone else in top 23 gets $100. i decided to spend 2 weeks to get this relatively decent time.

why the random fps values for each world? from what we understand about the maps, there's a pool of maps the game can choose from, and that pool changes based on the fps you're capped at while the game generates the map. the fps values i use were the best for me to get the maps i wanted. at the time of this run we still don't understand it, some fps values work better than others for different people.

a run with a time this low is pretty much impossible without getting the perfect maps, so although the competition was fun for the first couple of days it quickly devolved to mindless rng grinding. other notable rng includes boss attacks, evolutions (the skill upgrades), and the item i get from the shop. this run had perfect map rng, but i didn't get enough crit upgrades.
