Here's a look at six more obscure arcade games.

Crossed Swords by SNK (1990)
This is a first-person RPG hack n' slash. It feels a little like Punch Out but a bit more laid-back. The challenge was refreshing and I did feel overwhelmed at times. The graphics are nothing too fantastic and the enemy variety is lacking, but it's still very enjoyable and the bosses are well-done.

Daikaijū no Gyakushū by Taito (1986)
This title translates to "Great Monster Counterattack" in English. It's basically Commando but you're a Godzilla-like monster attacking the city. The sound is pretty atrocious but the graphics aren't too bad for its day. Very challenging...as you can see I can't get past the first level.

Dead Connection by Taito (1992)
I really had a lot of fun with this game. You run around in a static setting, shooting enemies that surround you. It's a very frantic game and the environment is highly destructible for a game of its time. I liked looking around for cover and making a break for the powerups as they appeared. The graphics look sharp and are really a treat to enjoy.

Demon Front by IGS (2002)
It's hard to deny that this is a blatant Metal Slug ripoff, but it did it so very well. It controls just as well as any of the Metal Slug games and the graphics suffer from very little slowdown. It's a fun ride and I was impressed with the animation.

Dino Rex by Taito (1992)
Dino Rex suffers from a lot of problems. It's a fighting game where you select a dinosaur and fight other dinosaurs. The move set is very limited and it's difficult to make contact with your opponent. The sound effects are terribly grating and you will want to turn the sound off after a couple matches. The dinosaurs have no detail to them, it looks like someone drew them in MSPaint and then used the paint bucket to color them one color.

Dragon Bowl by NICS (1993)
This game, based on the original Dragon Ball series, is a hack of Ninja Gaiden. It's actually fun to play, despite the graphics which look like they were drawn by a middle schooler who's a big fan of the show. My sweet lord though, the sound effects and music are terrible.
