minecraft:leaves2 was the block used for handling leaves from 1.7 up to 1.12, and only held data for acacia and dark oak leaves due to there not being another two tree types to use those other two data values. As it turns out, though, there is a way to obtain these two leaves in 1.7.4 survival using arrow transmutation (patched in 1.7.6).

In order for this to work, the leaves have to be from a grown acacia tree (placed leaves never have a data value of 0 and as such will not work for this unless a way to reset placed leaves to data value 0 is found). The contraption shown is made to restrict the acacia tree such that leaves are generated at the transmutation spots. This level of restriction will probably result in a lot of bone meal being used (mousekeys was used in this video for brevity's sake). After transmutation, these leaves can be picked up normally with shears, or broken for a chance to obtain data value 6 and 7 saplings.

From 14w25a onwards up until their removal, these will use the missing model characteristic of undefined items.
