For 5 years, Ford flexed its muscles and took the crown of the SUV market by morphing their Super Duty truck into an SUV and blessed the American market with the Excursion. Whether you were driving the kids to soccer practice or taking the guys on a weekend hunting trip, the truck was bound to turn heads and make Suburban owners blush. But Ford wasn’t immune to ever changing market demand and rising gas prices and these beasts went extinct in 2005. If you’re patient enough, you can still huntdown good examples of these rigs and Randy Bales’ 2005 might be the best one still in commission. Randy bought the truck bone stock as a decommissioned Montana State Police vehicle with 47k on it. He has built the truck to spend more time off the grid with his two kids and has traveled as far north as Canada and as far south as Baja.
