I don't know about others, but Gustav and Erhardt look similar to Guts and Griffith in Berserk manga

Generally speaking, chapter 2 of Olberic were all one-on-one battles, but since there were no specific bosses like the other chapters, they had to add team battles. This reminds me of the arena battles from Final Fantasy 6

Most of this chapter is about Olberic finding a reason to fight, while the other participants have good reason for their desire to win. In the middle of the story, Olberic realized that the reason to he fight is to win today strikes me really hard, it's not easy to find a reason when you lost your purpose in life. At the end of the story, Olberic hears the full truth about Erhardt from Gustav, realizing that Erhardt, like himself, may have lost the purpose in life. Olberic even wondered whether what he did is the same as Erhardt had done before. In general, Olberic's plot does not have as much emphasis on revenge as Primrose, although it probably looks like that now. What he did was simply regret, wanting for redemption because he can't protect his own kingdom in the past so he hesitated when he heard about Erhardt's story.
