711This is an unboxing and review of the Oculus Quest 2, a wireless virtual reality headset that's absolutely awesome. It's an upgrade to the original Quest, with more processing power, more RAM, more storage space and, unbelievably, a smaller asking price. The headset has been designed to be lightweight, more comfortable and with more intelligent tech too.

Highlights to the Oculus Quest 2 include:
An upgrade display with 1832x1920 pixels per eye
Upto 90Hz refresh rate (with supported games)
A lighter design
Better faceplate and strap system means it lets in less light
Tracking is superb even in bright conditions
Includes hand tracking out of the box
With Oculus Link cable you can play VR games via Steam or Oculus Store on a gaming PC
It has the promise of more accessories in future
It's $100/£100 cheaper than the original Quest
Better processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2) and more RAM (6GB) mean it can run more powerful games
Battery intelligence means the controllers last longer AND do clever things like only turn on when you pick them up to use them
Passthrough cameras allow you to see the world around you and you can do that with a double tap on the side of the headset
Downsides:
IPD adjustment is manual and only in three levels - 58mm (Setting 1), 63mm (Setting 2), 68mm (Setting 3)
IPD adjustment requires you to stick your finger inside the headset
Headset battery life is still just 3 hours max
Steams up easily if you're wearing glasses!
