Using windows 10 hotspot to connect Quest directly to my Desktop. I am using an asus pce ac55bt which theoritically can hit 850mbps on 5ghz AC, the quest itself can also use 5ghz AC. I set ALL three to 100mbps using h.264, checked in taskmanager and it is transmitting at avg 90mbps on all three so network is good.
Here is the latency from AMD relive log file
Average latency: full 63.14(average 67.29) client 29.24 server 23.77 encoder 8.82 network 10.13 decoder 12.49, frame time 13.93 ms
As you can see, 63ms is not that bad. From what I have seen, anything over 80ms is too laggy for Racing Sim.

So I wanted to see just if the Quest can do Project Cars 2 sufficiently through wifi with no noticable lag that will mess the gameplay up. I have tried both ALVR, Vridge (Free), and AMD Relivevr. Both ALVR and Vridge has streaming breakup and noticeable latency that will cause some over correctness with your wheel. AMD Relivevr software however had almost 0 noticeable latency (It does have some in this video that caused me to over correct) and the video quality is just so much better than the other two. I tried recording using the quest built in video recorder but only the ReliveVR actually came out smooth, the other two were stuttering and not as good quality visually. The one downside to ReliveVR is the audio....it just fucking sucks. It crackles and hisses and sometimes just silence.

If you dont know how these casting software works for PC VR to the Quest, they record your desktop and cast the video over wifi network to your Quest where the client software will decode the stream and autocorrect the timing with your 6dof movement. So that means with your GPU it has to render the game AND encodes the video, so you will need to make sure your GPU is powerful enough to do both at the same time.

I am using the same wheel as I used before in my previous videos. Trusty old Logitech Driving Force GT....I really want to upgrade to get a clutch pedal though...
