Odd Ham Radio Drop-In Expansion Modules
Until very recently, having discrete slots in radios was a way to add features. This was most often seen in the form of mechanical filters, but there are other, more esoteric cards that were made. Some are still available today. Today we install a Yaesu SU-1 modules into the VX-6 to unlock a barometer and altimeter. Would this be useful in a submersible outdoor handheld? I think so.
