Abstract: A few years ago, as part of their assessment, I collaborated with my students to create presentations aimed at educating the general public. Each presentation used a SIMIODE article to introduce an application of differential equations, with content shared via long-form YouTube videos and short-form posts on Instagram and TikTok. In this talk, I will discuss my key takeaways, including: 1. Feedback from students and areas for improvement. 2. Ethical considerations—potential issues with this mode of assessment and its potential for framing discussions on ethics in mathematics.
