Odin Sphere classic isn't bad; you just gotta learn its nuances
19People always slag off the original PS2 Odin Sphere in favor of Refined Mode in Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, and it drives me mad because the original gets mischaracterized so badly: It's not about just mashing your single attack string until POW runs out; it's about planning and decision-making and making the most of your limitations to see the wealth of options you have in a given moment.
Seriously, give it a REAL try, whether it's the PS2 version, the PS2 Classics version on PS3 (same as PS2 version, but less slowdown), or Classic mode in Leifthrasir (lovingly recreated version of the game with some QoL options and better visuals/performance, but otherwise nearly the same as the PS2 version). You might be surprised.
