The Disc ports feel like they were both developed independently, and arguably this may be the best version...if it wasn't on the friggin Saturn...
Stuff I missed/Misspoke:
-Balance seems to be identical to SNES as far as I can see, but the most obvious tell would be the Cockatrice, and I haven't seen one.
-Both ports have similar features, but they seem like they were designed on their own. The overhead map on Saturn looks redrawn, while the PS1 version looks like it was using the original from an overhead.
-Warren doesn't have a face down sprite, that was the Skulltopus. It could have always been there, but just usually disappears too fast, since this emulator runs like pure suffering.
-I tried 12 different emulators in total, but nothing seemed to play nice with my hardware. You might have better luck. Technically, it might be possible to play this stuff on PSP/Vita through Yabause, but they wouldn't behave for me.
-After comparing the two a bit, I don't think the overhead colored sprites help anything. Despite a slight color difference between teams, it's definitely confusing. The Gold/Silver aesthetic from the other versions looks more basic, but it's much clearer from a first glance information perspective.
-The different facing on the sprites seems to just be visual.
-My mic was acting up a tad for this one, but I didn't have time to rerecord, so I hope that's alright.
