There are more than 200,000 open teaching positions around the country, and one man's widely shared TikTok post may help explain why.

A teacher named Seth posted a video holding up his new Walmart work vest, explaining that he left teaching after six years for a job as a Walmart manager, where he now making considerably more money.

As a teacher, Seth said he made around $43,000 per year. Now he's making $55,000 before bonuses.

The ex teacher said he doesn't disparage anyone for becoming a teacher, but added, 'Think about how good our teachers could be if they focused on teaching and not having to work a second job on weekends."
