Zurich’s young and promising 0x01 label continues to build steam with another new EP from founder Olan! aka Olivier Zurkirchen.

The first releases on this label made an immediate mark with immediate support from the likes of Matt Edwards and DJ Bone. They have come from founder Olan! who is a revered modular live act and techno experimenter. His love of synths and a strong desire to make people dance means his sets are always energetic. This new EP finds him tackle classic rave with a modern approach: fast tracks are littered with amen breaks, big percussion and wild 303 lines and all finished with skill modern sound design.

Rip-snorting opener ‘Casual Entropy’ is a blistering rave cut with manic bass and acid lines, old school energy with cantering drums that will blow the floor away. The arresting ‘Our Cosmic Endowment’ is then an impressive wall of techno noise, with textured synths and white noise explosions all building to a frantic peak as punchy drums propel you along. Last of all is the excellent ’Certain Complex Ways,’ which is a more stripped back banger: the drums race along as hyper-driven hi hats and knotted bassline add to the urgency and leave you in a spin next to the mad rave stabs and acid lines.
