I went to the scrapyard last week, and I found this old rusty broken vise, which was great because I needed another one to leave outside the shop when I work outside.

So I decided to restore this all rusty and broken vise with a missing jaw. I started by removing the jaw and the rust, just to see how bad it was. And it was...

The previous owner of this vise tried to fixed it, and welded the jaws but also filled the preexisting holes to put the screws holding the jaws to the vise. So, after I fixed the broken parts, I had to drill and tap new holes, remake the jaws, and also some flathead screws.

I thought it would be an easy and quick project, but it took me much longer than I originaly thouhgt. Breaking the tap inside a hole slowed me down a little bit too...
