The third song off my ADVENT EP. Tried my hand at making a ballad. The lyrics actually came to me relatively quickly, a lot more quickly than any of the other songs I wrote. Maybe because this song is actually telling a narrative, which I actually have some prior experience in doing. This was the first song from this EP that I completed.
ADVENT is my first EP, straight out of my bedroom and into the digital airwaves. This is my first time sound engineering/mixing instrumentals and vocals. Could've turned out worse if I do say so myself.

From inside the house, echoed into the streets.
Hellbent anger and rebellious screams.
Mama and child were fighting again.
With little a thought, Lacey left all her things.
Ran out the door, a girl of only fifteen.
Mama smirked and waved, "You'll be back in a flash."

Dropped out of high school.

She got with a guy who's ten years older and broke.
It's the kind of life that sure is different from home.
Now involved with the arm of the law.
Her boyfriend left her for a richer broad.
Alone in a cell, two months pregnant and can't afford bail.

It's me your father. I left when you were two.
I came by after I heard the news.
About your Mama, bless her heart.
A fatal car crash made her soul depart.
I came by just to check in on you.
Lacey hung up the phone. Slumped down to her knees.
Her heart and mind filled with guilty disease.
