Admittedly, Old School Musical is a bit of a safe affair. It's actually a pretty standard rhythm game where you just have to press the keys in timing with the notes that appear on the screen. The difference is that missing notes may not necessarily cost you the game, as the notes are tied to whatever happens on the screen behind the notes.

Unfortunately you won't be able to see much of the background, because you'll be tunnel-visioning in on the notes (and that's a standard problem with rhythm games, to be fair). However, the timing feels perfect, some of the patterns on the hardest mode are pretty intricate, and the humour in the somewhat absurdist plot makes up for it.

Also the game over screen. This game hands-down (and speaking of hands, I found a fix for my hand camera!) has the best game over screens of 2018. I want to know who the heck that guy that's goofily dancing around is.
