His “friend and companion, the lovely Margo Lane, is the only person who knows to whom the voice of the invisible Shadow belongs”. Crime does not pay - and nothing shows this better than the cases solved by the Shadow! As our story opens today, we find Lamont Cranston with his friend Margo Lane in his apartment, busily trilling the dials of a short wave radio receiver. A few nights ago, he came across a very unusual noise on the radio, but he couldn't figure out what it was. But tonight, he has some recording equipment out ready to make a record of this strange radio transmission...
