I made this probably about 6-7 years ago now. At the time I thought it was great, but I have definitely come a long way. This was meant as a tribute of sorts to TM2 when I made it.

I am cheating in this vid. Mr. Grim+ Infinite turbo=Pure fun.

I used to make these kinds of vids all the time for fun. I only have one surviving tape though, because I would make them for my friends and give them out, or just record over them with similar recordings.

Absolutely no computer editing software was used to make this vid (which is why it's a little rough around the edges)

It requires two VCRs, at least three recordable VHS tapes, and a console that plays CDs.

I'd use the first tape to record gameplay footage, then I'd edit down the footage that I wanted to use on the second tape via hitting record on the second VCR when the footage I wanted was playing, and then hitting stop on that VCR when the footage I wanted was done.

The Third and Final VHS tape was where I put the final footage. I'd take out the audio wires leading from the VCR that was playing the footage (but keep the video wire in tact), and I'd insert the audio wires from my Playstation, or Dreamcast to play the music on. The VCR recording the footage would then record the gameplay video with the music for audio.

It was a completely basic setup, but it worked pretty well. I'm glad that I no longer have to use that setup anymore (thank you computers and video capture cards), but I have fond memories of making vids this way, and I was mostly satisfied with the end results at the time.
