Valve's Pierre-Loup Griffais has stated that while the company understands the desire for an OLED screen on its Steam Deck device, swapping out the screen is not as simple as it may seem. The design of the device is centred around the LCD panel and changing the screen would require an extensive amount of work. Griffais did not rule out the possibility of an OLED version in the future but noted that it is not something that can be done with an incremental update. In the meantime, Steam Deck owners can use the VibrantDeck plugin to enhance display saturation.
