Valve's upcoming SteamOS 3.5 update will be the first to update the Linux kernel since the launch of the Steam Deck. This update will bring a range of performance improvements and new features for Steam Deck owners, although most of them are not significant enough to be noticed. The update will also fix an issue related to simultaneous multithreading (SMT) that caused performance problems in some cases. The update will include a new graphics driver and will be available for testing on the Steam Deck preview channel before its stable release.
