Released for the Playstation 1 in 2000. Developed and published by Capcom. The 5th entry in the X series. This is still a fairly decent game, but compared to X4 it's not AS fun. The terrible voice acting has been replaced with non-voiced text cutscenes, which can't be skipped. The operator Alia was introduced in this game to give you hints and advice, but she NEVER shuts up. You can still play as both Mega Man X or Zero at the start, which gives you either the Fourth Armor for X or the Zero Buster for Zero as bonuses. This time you can also switch between the 2 at Maverick Hunter HQ too! The forced time limit in this, and the RNG of if the Enigma Cannon or Space Shuttle work against the falling space colony Eurasia, are not very fun concepts. If neither work,Zero ends up going Maverick, and you cannot play as him anymore. You can reload your save to try for a different outcome at least, but it's still dumb. Played through the opening stages with both X and Zero, and took on Grizzly Slash and Duff McWhalen.
