21Once Human is fun. It’s an open-world Post Apocalyptic Survival Horror game developed by Starry Studios which is affiliated with NetEase. Don’t let the NetEase affiliation fool you, the game is fun in its own regard and is more enjoyable if you have friends to hang around with you. I’ve been playing the game with my buddies and we’re having a blast in Once Human.
Once Human’s story revolves around the player characters that are called Meta-Humans and an organization called Rosetta. Rosetta experimented on a lot of things and brought upon a near apocalyptic event which was called the Starfall. This event exposed creatures with a substance called Stardust and mutated them resulting in what people call Deviations. Rosetta is on the hunt for Meta-Humans as they want to take advantage of their ability to utilize Stardust. The Metas must now resist capture and fight their way through hordes of monsters and humans alike as you build, craft and scavenge for your survival.
The gameplay is very reminiscent of other survival games like 7 Days to Die, Ark: Survival Evolved and many more however one of the things I can feel like the game’s energy exudes is Metal Gear:Survive. Oh wow, Android. Comparing this to a 2018 Konami Survival Game. Well yeah, the game has this weird psychopomp, eldritch-like aura where you have to fight against creatures mixed with things from your daily lives like searchlights, cars, lightbulbs and even a girl with an umbrella for some reason.
