Get the Extension: (FROM FIREFOX) https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/1078/twitchlive-panel/

Put this in a script: (thanks to twitch user ROBERTOSZEK for this bit)

livestreamer -p vlc http://twitch.tv/$streamer best & chatty -channel $streamer -connect


Throw this in the extension settings page:
/LOCATION-OF-SCRIPT/NAME_OF_SCRIPT %streamer%
