I know that Hades is super popular, but there are some things about it that bug that hell out of me. The weird hit detection. Bosses going invincible or disappearing right as you use your stored call attack. Shield enemies. But more than anything, getting screwed by the RNG is what drives me bonkers.

The first half of this video is a run where I failed to get Athena's reflect-when-dodging upgrade despite running into her a bunch of times. I also never found an upgrade that attaches doom to the gun's special attack, which is pretty much a requirement to keep the weapon from being a pain to use. So basically, my first run left me filling the screen with blinding visual effects until I couldn't react to what was happening around me, and all for pitiful amounts of damage. Annoying. The pause menu at 34:00 was me rage-swinging my controller after getting Athena and no dodge-reflect AGAIN, causing it to disconnect.

The second half of this video is one where I switch to the sword weapon, find a bunch of upgrades that actually work with that playstyle, and carve through the game with no issue. Though I lost all my HP at 1:27:07 because of an unfortunate combination of poison and room traps. That part of the game sucks. Guess-a-door is a stupid mechanic that should have died in the 90s.

All of this was in the "good" part of the game, before cranking up modifiers to grind out resources and using guesswork to max out relationships in order to get the insanely unfulfilling epilogue. I think that I might actually hate Hades; it constantly pushes you forward while never giving you as much as you expect in return. It's like a freemium game where you pay in time and sanity instead of money.
