Eine Stunde Gameplay von "Final Fantasy VII Remake", einem Rollenspiel entwickelt und veröffentlicht von Square Enix im Jahre 2020 für die Playstation 4 so wie in 2021 für die Playstation 5 und Windows PC, hier gezeigt in der Playstation 4 Version.
Im Spiel übernimmt man die Rolle von Ex-SOLDAT Cloud Strife, welcher sich der Avalanche-Ökoterrorismus-Gruppe rund um Barret Wallace anschließt und zu Beginn des Spiels mit dieser gemeinsam einen Bombenanschlag auf einen sogenannten Mako-Reaktor verübt, einer Einrichtung, welche die Stadt Midgar durch das Aussagen der Lebensenergie des Planeten mit Energie versorgt. Schnell jedoch überschlagen sich die Ereignisse und nehmen typisch für das Rollenspiel-Genre eine Vielzahl an mal mehr und mal weniger dramatischen Wendungen.
Final Fantasy VII Remake ist wie der Name schon preisgibt ein Remake des Originaltitels Final Fantasy VII aus dem Jahre 1997, welches für die erste Playstation und ebenfalls Windows PC erschien. Anders als die Originalversion enthält das Remake jedoch nur einen Teil der Gesamtstory seines Originals, da die Remake-Versionen als Trilogie angelegt sind, bei welcher jeder Teil jeweils Bereiche des Originals deutlich detaillierter und ausgearbeiteter beleuchtet. Der Nachfolger zu Remake, mit dem Namenszusatz Rebirth versehen und zweiter von drei Teilen der Trilogie erschien im Jahre 2024.

In the game the player takes on the role of ex SOLDAT member Cloud Strife who joins the eco terrorist group Avalanche, lead by Barret Wallace and who at the beginning of the game commence a bombing attack on a so called Mako reactor, a facility that provides the city of Midgar with energy by sucking the life source out of the planet. As typical for the RPG genre soon a lot of greater and lesser twists of fate will happen.
As the title already gives away, Final Fantasy VII Remake is a remake of the original Final Fantasy VII which was released for the first Playstation and Windows PC. Different from the original version though is the circumstance that the remale version only contains a part of the story of the original game, since the remake versions are planned as a trilogy, in which every parts sheds a more detailed and in depth light on certain areas and aspects of the game. The successor to Remake, subtitled Rebirth and second of the three planned trilogy releases was released in 2024.
