Presented at EclipseCon 2023 in Ludwigsburg, Germany by Gael Blondelle (Eclipse Foundation).

As open source has eaten software, it is now fully directly addressed in new regulation frameworks. Even if this visibility is good, it comes with its own challenges as most policy makers are not familiar with the ins and outs of our ecosystem. In this talk, we will emphasize the necessity for the open source community to engage proactively with policy matters and how the Eclipse Foundation and the global open source ecosystem is tackling this new challenge.
