After Season of Ice and Season of Flame the Gameboy Spyro games were taken in a different direction, this time into an open world format, more Metroidvania-esque, and it worked pretty well for the most part! a huge step up from Season of Ice, and mechanically a very unique Spyro experience. This is the game I remember most from the GBA lineup and would likely be my favorite if I had to choose. It is a fun and whacky journey through the realms, because everyone's favorite short menace Ripto is back and is causing serious trouble as always.
