Welcome to Mega Sonic, a Beats of Rage .pak where you fight enormous hordes of enemies while dealing with catrastrophic hitboxes and where Sonic KILLS Classic Sonic and Megaman while eating his trademark favourite food: Gigantic roast chicken from the Streets of Rage series, all in an effort to stop "Dr. Robotnick and Dr. Willy" [sic] and their plans of world domination dead in their tracks.
I am aware that apparently this got a "fan remake" of sorts way later that POSSIBLY could be better, and in fact that fan remake is infinitely easier to find online than this old version, but today I'm bringing you the uh, "classic" version instead.
I'm uploading this video, well firstly because this channel really needs content, but also just to document this game's existence. Really, there is very little to be said about this fangame, ultimately it's just another dime-a-dozen crappy fangame from the noughties. Playing this will certainly give you a whole new level of appreciation for Nightmare on Ed Street, since that at least very clearly had effort put into it even if it still plays poorly as a game overall.
Still, it's a little sad how we don't really seem to get things like these anymore - showing your love for a series by just throwing something out there, anything, regardless of your talent, in complete earnest and devoid of irony. Certainly different times, those were, so I feel like there is at least some merit in looking back upon this kind of "subculture" of the time.
Don't worry. hopefully more videos showing better Beat 'em Ups are coming.
