key commands used:
git reset (commit number)
git remote remove origin
git reflog expire --expire=now --all
git gc --prune=now
git remote add origin (repo url)
git push --force --set-upstream origin master
this should effectively clean your repo
to test if this is effective, remove your repo and:
git clone (repo url)
