This Opening was inspired by one of Imaxination1980's blog posts, in which he dispensed information that I never knew: that the infamous Disney animated film, The Black Cauldron, was supposed to be re-released in theaters in 1991 as The Great Mouse Detective was, altering the title of the film to appeal more to families than it did before. The re-release was likely cancelled due to both the successes of older Disney films in re-releases, such as 101 Dalmatians, The Jungle Book, and Fantasia, and also due to the overwhelming success of Beauty and the Beast in Christmas 1991.
This video is a tribute to that idea and what might have been a much earlier home video for an underrated Disney film (that I sincerely hope Disney considers remaking over ruining their good films).
