Should have built a sub factory early on, but didn't realize it was a naval map until too late. Would have been best to spam subs and destroy the enemy's navy, then prevent the transport from bringing their construction vehicle to the island (which happens as soon as their main base is attacked, or in this case a paradrop plane fell into it and caused splash damage.)
Maybe I still could have won, but I lacked resources while the other team didn't; so they could probably defend the island indefinitely while I waste troops. So, yeah. Use subs and cut them off from getting there before dealing with their first base.
