OpenRails - Keighley & Worth Valley Railway Santa Special Activity (MSTS)
9Seeing as our BLS Christmas Special 2023 Video of OpenRails/MSTS got some good reception it has been decided that retro reviews/gameplay videos of these older gen simulators and addons are going to become quite a regular thing. In this next edition of OpenRails Videos we explore an addon which nowadays is extremely rare to get hold of and that is the 2004 released Worth Valley & Queensbury Triangle Addon for Microsoft Train Simulator, this addon comes with two renditions of the Worth Valley route one being the preserved railway based in 2004 (Featured In This Video) and the 1950s/60s era Queensbury Triangle which runs from Keighley to Queensbury. We take control of resident Austerity WD 2-8-0 90733 with Class 25 25059 Top 'N' Tailed from Keighley to Oxenhope for the railways Santa Specials, even though this addon is very difficult to get hold of now it is found not to be as good as some other MSTS addons that you could get back in the day due to having bugs and issues which spoil the overall simulation of the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway an example being speed limits being pretty much non-existent!! Not to mention some locomotives and rolling stock models looking a bit rushed but despite these flaws we are very happy to have this addon as part of the archive collection of MSTS content.
With MSTS no longer being playable on windows, anyone wanting to play this old retro simulator shall have to download OpenRails which is basically a remastered/revisited version of this classic game making it compatible to run on modern day computers. It can be downloaded from the link below, it is recommended to have a copy of Microsoft Train Simulator installed to your computer for this game.
