This is a freeware/open-source port of Tyrian, which is also available on several other platforms such as PSP, DS, Dreamcast, and Gamecube.

One of the people responsible for the original game was kind enough to give out the source code, which led to these ports being made. I highly recommend this to anyone who has a homebrew-enabled PSP and DS, since it's got a lot of bang for its small filesize.

Unfortunately, this port has the strange and hilarious side-effect of crashing at random. I'm not sure if this is the result of my random, crappy Kingston SD card that I bought at a closing Blockbuster, or if it's the port itself, but it's not much of an issue when you realize that the levels are two to three minutes long.

Again, this is legally free, but you'll need a homebrew-enabled or modded console to play it on anything other than a PC, Mac or Linux computer.
