OPERATION 7 SHOWDOWN (Part 2 of 4) || Review in description
Review:
I had played another version (now cancelled) of Operation 7 before showdown that I had remembered as enjoyable and easy to get in quick and get out. Showdown isn't like that game.
The first thing I noticed was that the controls were horrible. The customization seemed very difficult to me to get right. I wasn't able to, but I was able to get them to the point where I could manage myself well enough knowing that other players were probably having a difficult time. LOL
For me, if the controls were good, I would be able to accept some of the awkward movements like jumping over obstacles. However, even with a lot of tweaking the aiming mechanic feels very off. Taking that in as part of the game and deciding that some of the trophies were easily attainable, I decided to go for some of those as a goal. With that goal in mind I began to enjoy the game a bit more. It’s a small download after all.
Conclusion:
If you like trophy hunting and look for games that you can easily achieve trophies even if they aren’t the most enjoyable games, you might like the opportunity for that vector here. I am not sure that I could stick around even with that motivation for the higher trophies, but they may still fix the controls and if that is the case, despite the dated graphics and awkward movements there might be some fun to be had, like there was for me.
