SITUATION
On 1 January 1991, after increasing violence in Mogadishu during the Somali Civil War, James Keough Bishop, the US ambassador to Somalia is requesting military assistance to evacuate the embassy. Americans and other foreign nationals have sought shelter in the Embassy compound as the reign of Somali dictator Siad Barre disintegrates into a confused battle for control of Mogadishu.
MISSION
A USAF C-130 has crashed landed on its way to deliver supplies for the United Nations. SEAL Team V, Echo Platoon is to board a CH-53E Super Stallion and arrive at Aden Adde International Airport. Echo Platoon will conduct a night HALO insertion approximately 1.5 kilometers from the crash site. Find the crew members, await for an extraction helicopter, and get them back to the USS Nimitz.
