I’m playing Operation Serpens VR on PSVR2 with Sense controllers.
In this video I continue taking down the Operation Serpens Cartel and it’s a fast-paced action game similar to the old arcade shooters like Operation Wolf and Time Crisis.
It’s a fun simple VR shooter with pixel-ish last gen looking graphics.
The shooting felt good and the many guns in the stages felt fun and the weapons are varied plus there are throwables weapons as well. Each of the guns have a unique looking skin that are low res which fits in to the overall look of the game well enough but it’d been nice having sharper textures for these.
The music/sounds are fine and the npc auto voices reminded me of the old arcade type voices and did the job well.
The enemies are varied so you don’t feel like you’re shooting same guys over & over, and i did start having fun when i was taking down waves of baddies in a chain of headshots and the stages are fun.
If like me you’ve played complex vr shooters you may feel a bit uninspired by the shooting in this but it has nice touches, like realtime scopes and varied weapons which make it fun.
Theres a solo campaign where you take down a crime cartel full of comical characters. Theres a zombie horde mode which is a wave shooter type thing which online scoreboards, and theres up to 4 coop multiplayer.
I think if you’re after a game for a younger gamer or a new vr user this game would be ideal for them. It’s an easy game to play with a graphical style suitable for younger gamers.
If you’re a a regular/VR shooter gamer looking for something to play I think youll get a fun time grabbing it in a sale ideally as you would have played better shooter games but its certainly worth grabbing.
