Oppenhiemer Trailer Nuke Explosion Recreated In Teardown
2Watched a video on YouTube of some guys recreating this scene without CGI.
I decided to try recreate the scene in Teardown! I really enjoyed making this one! Took some planning and i'm surprised it worked as well as it did.
So here's how I did it.
First I used a spray can mod and painted the ground black. After changing the weather to Night Snow and setting up a light on the side I used the Advanced camera mod and set up a few cameras to spin around while looking at the black ground creating the particle effects.
After that I used the Compilation of Space Stations map and spawned in 2 helicopters to float at 90 degree angles. I attached 3 lights to each choppers propellers using cables and fired up the engines. To my surprise this worked very well for making the spinning atoms, once I sped up the clip to 16x speed.
The sphere shot was tricky. I couldn't get an explosion big enough to look like a perfect sphere so I used a cinematic bomb and then creative mode to build lots of wood around the site for debris and set it off.
For the explosion I used a desert map I found, I set up a cinematic bomb and fired a nuclear strike at it. I shot this from multiple angles and slowed down the clips.
