Released in 1999, Half-Life: Opposing Force became Half-Life's first game expansion. Developed by Gearbox Software, this game had us take control of Corporal Adrian Shephard as he wanders the Black Mesa Research Facility following the events of the Resonance Cascade.

I loved my playthrough of this game, but it came with its frustrations - mostly because of my skill issues. I tell the stories of games because I'm not very good at them! I believe Half-Life: Opposing Force is a Masterpiece despite its flaws. And here's why in this restrospective/ deep dive/ video essay.
