Optiplex GX270 processor upgrade FAIL (Recorded 1/23/2021)
0Thought i'd see if the Pentium 4 from the Toshiba Satellite could work in my brother's Dell Optiplex GX270, but only reports 1.86ghz instead of 3.33ghz. Much like the time we tried a 2.3ghz Pentium 4 in his Dimension 3000 to replace the 2.4ghz Celeron.
The spec sheet says "Intel 865G chipset, Intel® Pentium® 4 processor with 800 MHz front side bus and Hyper-Threading support or 533 MHz front side bus (depending on processor) and 512K L2 cache or Celeron® processor with 400 MHz front side bus and 128K L2 cache " so this one isn't an option, unless you want to reduce the heat levels xD
