Oracle of Ages & Seasons - Linked Any% Speedrun - 4:04:01
Not bad for my first linked run in nearly 6 months and only my second attempt in the last 4 years. You might notice that I skip a bunch of splits on my timer and that I because I am using a different route for Oracle of Ages compared to my previous run. Last time, I used the any% route which involves doing an extremely difficult trick called D2 Skip and I ended up losing nearly 20 minutes to failing it. This time, I chose to do the any% (No D2 Skip) route and it paid off by being able to save a large amount of time in Oracle of Ages.
The basic rules for this speedrun are:
- Complete one of the games and either use the password given at the end of the credits or use a link cable to transfer the file to the second game
- Complete the linked scenario on the second game, defeating Twinrova and Ganon, and save Zelda
- Game order makes a difference because you'll have different items for the linked scenario depending on which game you are playing second
There are some minor differences in a linked Seasons game when compared to any%:
- There are a few new cutscenes with Twinrova
- You'll need to fight some enemies and save Zelda when heading to Blaino's gym after dungeon 2
- You retain the same animal companion as you had in Ages
- 2 of the jewels required for access to Tarm ruins are now in different places
All of my speedruns are streamed live on Twitch at https://twitch.tv/mashy
