This video was taken on Friday, May, 18th, 2012 around 10:16pm Eastern Time in New Haven, Indiana. I was seated with my mother on a porch swing when suddenly above us a bright orange-yellowish light appeared in the sky. It appeared to have a brighter orange on the right half & was moving to our right, which was North Northwest. It tracked in what appeared to be a perfect arc, and we then lost view of it behind a tree line. It was a clear night; no clouds and I had not noted seeing the moon. I had to run into my mom's house to retrieve my digital Canon camera, which only took no more than 15-seconds. It was much larger to the naked eye when it was directly overhead, however, I was able to capture this video before losing it behind the tree line.

I should also add that whatever this thing is, it was absolutely silent, even when directly overhead. Many things raced through my mind at attempting to initially identify it. I thought perhaps it was the moon.. but then it began to fly in the arc as described. Then I thought perhaps it was a meteor / falling star, but it wasn't burning up or leaving a trail. Normally a 'shooting star' is burnt up before you know it; this thing was actually flying through the sky. Was it a weather balloon? Nope, that was obviously not it, nor was it a balloonist, they don't fly at night, nor do they move this quickly or in this fashion.

What a spectacular sight! Being a pilot of 41 years I was left totally clueless as to what this is.
