Just use the spider to speed glide over the gap, before you do the cutscene that builds the bridge. I forgot to do the video before but the trick is there.
It saves a full cutscene that lasts ~30 seconds, and you'll keep the orb with you until the end of the ruins, which is fancy. Useful for All Cells I guess.
