In this video, I show Get the ORICO MiniTower RAID enclosure with USB-C 10Gbps and up to 56TB of storage space – perfect for creatives, Mac users, and anyone who needs a lot of storage. I unpack the device, show the setup with two 3.5" WD RE HDDs in RAID 0 and a WD Black NVMe SSD – and test the actual transfer rates.
🔍 Review & Experiences:
• ✅ RAID 0 with 2x WD RE WD2004FBYZ 3.5" SATA 6Gb/s 2TB 7.2k 128MB HDDs delivers a strong 350MB/s
• ❗ ️ NVMe SSD only 750MB/s, despite the promised 1000MB/s – despite the WD Black NVMe with 4500MB/s
• 🧲 The M.2 cover keeps falling off – weak magnet
• 🔇 Noises are audible, but not annoying
• 🧩 The SD slot doesn't work, only microSD is usable
• 🔌 3x USB-A hub USB-C port and power switch included
• ❄ ️ Active ventilation protects the hard drives from overheating
• 🔧 Easy setup with included accessories (screws and cables)
• 🍏 Elegant appearance – perfect for Mac Mini M4 and MacBook users
📦 Conclusion:
The ORICO M435 impresses with its good design, decent performance, and easy setup. Unfortunately, the NVMe performance falls short of expectations, and a few minor weaknesses (such as the M.2 flap and the SD slot) tarnish the picture.
➡ ️ Nevertheless, the price-performance ratio is good – a clear recommendation for anyone looking for plenty of storage space in a beautiful design!
