Original piano composition (Black Keys only) - A Song Of Determination
84Here's an original composition that I (finally) recorded yesterday.
While I usually only record improvisations on black keys, this time, as soon as I came up with that first melody you can hear in the beginning, I knew this is one of those pieces that I needed to turn into the full composition.
It actually took me around 3 months to record this one properly because, for some reason, no matter how many times I played it I just couldn't get everything right.
Sometimes I would come close to playing it just right but then I'd realize for example that some parts are too much out of tempo so I had to try again another day (because by the time I was able to practice long enough to be able to play it decently - I would get tired and couldn't concentrate long enough to keep playing).
When I first started recording I actually enjoyed playing this piece but after I played it so many times over and over again the enjoyment actually turned into frustration to the point that I almost wanted to step away from recording it for a while and try working on something else.
Usually, when I finish a composition - I don't work on anything else until I record it properly because I can't focus on anything else while knowing that I still have the previous piece to record.
Even though I was frustrated by recording it day after day and failing over and over again I was still determined to keep playing it until I succeed - and that finally happened yesterday.
That's the reason why I titled this composition A Song Of Determination - because, even though this piece tested my patience many times, I was determined to keep going until I record it properly. At first I wanted to title it 'Determination' but it felt like something was missing so I added the first part to it because, even though it has no lyrics, when I listen to this piece it almost feels like I can hear words in it, a story that is unique to the listener's interpretation - a song without words.
